Jeff Davis, PE, is the director of engineering at Conversion Technology, Inc. He has a degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering from Georgia Tech, and he is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with over 14 years of experience as a consultant to the industry. As a member of the NFPA, he is a committee member for NFPA 61: Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities and NFPA 664: Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Explosions in Wood Processing and Woodworking Facilities. A broad scope of his credentials include combustible dust hazard evaluations, fire and explosion protection design, compliance audits under OSHA’s process safety management (PSM) and EPA’s Risk Management Plan (RMP) standards, process hazard analysis (PHA) preparation, and industrial air permits.
Keith McGuire, PE, is the structural engineering director for CST Industries, specializing in the design and fabrication of bolted and welded storage tanks, silos, support structures, aluminum domes, architectural covers, and accessories for a wide variety of liquid and bulk solids applications. He is active in numerous standards committees including American Petroleum Institute (API), American Water Works Association (AWWA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and NFPA. He has worked in the CST engineering department since 1977 upon graduating from Pittsburg State University with a BS in technology, specializing in structural, mechanical, and civil engineering. He is PE-licensed in five states.
Bruce McLelland is the business development director, explosion protection for Fike Corporation, Blue Springs, MO. With over 45 years in the life and property protection industry, his experience includes being a former committee member of NFPA 68: Standard on Explosion Protection by Deflagration Venting and NFPA 69: Standard on Explosion Prevention Systems. He has been named inventor or co-inventor on five patents pertaining to explosion protection solutions and is currently a member of the NFPA and Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE). He is National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) IV-certified in special hazards technologies and serves as a principal committee member for NFPA 652, 654, 664, and 61 standards.
