LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT
Conversion Technology, Inc. is available to conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for client products, processes, and services.
What is a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)?
An LCA is a technique to assess the environmental aspects and potential impacts associated with a product, process, or service, by: compiling an inventory of relevant energy and material inputs and environmental releases, evaluating the potential environmental impacts associated with identified inputs and releases, and interpreting the results to help make a more informed decision about the human health and environmental impacts of products, processes, and activities. Life cycle assessments have been done on a huge variety of products and processes, including jet engines, diapers, drinking cups, computers, remediation techniques, and trash disposal.
Why do it?
Environmental aspects have become a major issue in business. Companies are investing in ways to increase efficiency, reduce energy, and minimize their effect on the environment.
What’s in it for you?
LCAs can help your company select the products and processes that have the least impact on the environment. Businesses can use this along with other factors to analyze cost and performance of products and the environmental heath cost to the company. Finally, a peer-reviewed LCA can help companies and industry groups form a marketing strategy around their own environmental impact.
